FarmHouse Wins 2010 Christmas Lights Contest
December 15, 2010
The Illinois Chapter of FarmHouse Fraternity is proud to announce that they have won the 2010 Christmas Lights Contest sponsored by Sigma Alpha sorority. On December 9, 2010, this year's judge, Alex Lo, a teacher at the U of I, visited all of the greek houses that decorated their houses for the contest this year. FarmHouse was the first stop on the tour and we made sure that we made a great impression.
This year senior Craig Hogan and junior Nick Urish volunteered to head up the project. Thanks to some dedication and a few creative ideas, FarmHouse was able to set itself apart from the competition. Namely, it is possible to see the two 18 ft christmas trees that were temporarily added to the landscape on either side of the sidewalk leading up to the front door. Additionally, the flag pole was used in to construct a giant mega-tree. And finally, Christmas music was played from the balcony as the judges walked up. It truly created a festive atmosphere and a sense of pride for the members.
